Dear Valued Reader,  Happy New Year to you and yours! As the holiday dust settles, I wanted to give you a special New Year’s gift since you are one of the most important people in the world to me: a cherished reader. I thought you might enjoy a sneak peek—before anyone else—of my next book cover. I’ve been keeping it under wraps until I had the chance to send you this note.

But first, I want to thank you for your support of my most recent book. St. Clements Bluff. This novel is the first in my new Heart of St. Mary’s County series and I have been overwhelmed by the positive response to it. I’m so grateful for such loyal and awesome readers! I also wanted to let you know about some upcoming events where I will be appearing: February 21, 2024 Charlotte Hall LibraryCharlotte Hall, MD“Ask Me Anything” Session March 16, 2024 Suffolk Mystery Authors Festival Suffolk, VA Panelist: “Woman of the People: Inspiring Female Characters” and Book Signing March 27, 2024 Indian Head Senior Center Indian Head, MD“Ask Me Anything” Session and Book Signing I will be at lots of other events in 2024 and will update you when I have a more complete schedule.

For fun, here is a Christmas picture of my brother’s German Shepherd, Hulda. Poor Hulda, she didn’t get to join in any reindeer games this year.

Okay, finally, here is the cover for my next book, Three Notch Safari, releasing in July.  I will let you know when it is available for pre-order.

Love it?  Feel free to share.I have to say, this is my favorite of all my book covers. I adore the fun vibe of it, but don’t worry, there will be a mystery tucked inside the story. From the back cover: Becca Garvey’s life has just been burned to the ground by her husband’s announcement that he is abandoning her to pursue his “dream” of becoming a beach bum. Left solely responsible for not only their 25-acre homestead in Hollywood, Maryland, but a free-spirited daughter and her increasingly dotty mother, Becca is determined to face an uncertain future with optimism. She believes that her farm—which is really only Becca’s collection of tamed exotic animals like donkeys, llamas, and miniature horses—might be her ticket to financial solvency. Her plan is to create a unique place where children and adults alike are encouraged to not only interact freely with the animals but also to have weekend “experiences” with them. If she can create that, she just might find herself with a profitable venture. However, animals are not always cooperative, and Becca’s neighbors are not enthused about her vision of a tourist attraction in their quiet, pastoral setting. She must buy new animals, learn how to care for them, train them, and create an experience for customers…all while balancing the concerns of her neighbors and the disruptions of jealous busybodies. Will Becca be able to make her dream a reality before losing her mind and everything she owns? Or is she destined for a very public disaster that will be the talk of not just her neighbors…but all of St. Mary’s County? In my next newsletter, I will share an unedited excerpt from Three Notch Safari.  Stay tuned!Until next time I remain—
