Rave for The Queen’s Dollmaker:

“There are so many other historical figures entwined in this story that I had to keep reminding myself that I was reading fiction! ...Almost as if narrated by a storyteller, The Queen’s Dollmaker is an historically enchanting fairytale that captivates and satisfies, all the while making you wish that it were all true.”  Lucy Bertoldi, Enchanted by Josephine

The Queen’s Dollmaker has arrived!

August 2010

thequeensdollmakerDear Historical Fiction Lover,

Finally, it’s here!  The cover to my upcoming release, A ROYAL LIKENESS.  As heiress to the famous Laurent Fashion Dolls business, Marguerite Ashby’s future seems secure. But France still seethes with violence in the wake of the Revolution. And when Marguerite’s husband is killed during a riot, the young widow travels to Edinburgh and becomes apprentice to her old friend, Marie Tussaud, who has established a wax exhibition. When Prime Minister William Pitt commissions a wax figure of Admiral Nelson, Marguerite becomes immersed in a dangerous adventure—and earns the admiration of two very different men. And as Britain battles to overthrow Napoleon, Marguerite will find her loyalties under fire from all sides.

The dress for the cover was made by the incomparable Alethea Sayers, and the art is by renowned cover artist Jon Paul.  I think the publisher did a lovely job.  What say you, dear reader?

The book is available for pre-order now at your favorite online location, and will be available at your local bookstore on December 28th.  Hmmm, I have a purchase suggestion for those of you that receive bookstore gift cards for Christmas. . .

Thanks for visiting.  Let’s curl up with the past again soon.
